"You Don't Know the Dark Side"

Somebody told me the other day, “Hey man, you don’t have any idea what it is like in the drug scene, to be miserable day after day with no hope”. I have to admit I don’t. I have seen the devastating effects of drugs on children, parents, the human body, the spirit and especially the mind. I have seen people become slaves to a feeling that they can’t seem to get enough of but it never seems to satisfy but for a moment. Eventually the moments are gone and a trail of tears is left behind. I have seen young people lose all they have and steal what their parents have before they finally take their own life either willing or by overdose. I don’t know that life. I missed it. The only drug I was involved with growing up was being drug to church. Wednesday nights, Sunday nights, Sunday mornings, and revival meetings. I don’t know the dark side that is claiming the lives of so many. But I do know the bright side of life. I do know what it feels like to have every sin I have ever done be forgiven.
I do know what it feels like to be broken and cry tears so hard that I run out of them only to have God wiping away those tears of sorrow and replacing they with tears of joy. I do know what it means to have peace in my heart that carries me through every bad circumstance I come across. I do know what it is like to lay my head down on a pillow at night and go to sleep resting peacefully, knowing that if my heart takes it’s last beat I will be home in Heaven. I do know what it is like to know that my loved ones that have died are already rejoicing in a Heavenly peace that I will someday get to join them in. I know love, joy, peace, self-control, hope, gentleness, faith, goodness, and especially I know JESUS CHRIST. The one who can set the vilest sinner free, transform the darkest life, and give a new life to anyone that is willing to give themselves willing to Him and receive Him as LORD and Savior.
NO, I don’t know much about the dark side, but I am sure willing to show you the Bright Side of Life if you are willing to listen. My drug of choice, JESUS CHRIST, Savior, Redeemer, Mighty God and King. As my dad used to say, “I haven’t stopped drinking, I just changed fountains”. Now is the time and you feel it on the inside that am right. Your time is growing shorter if you don’t change directions. I hope to hear from you soon. God Bless you.
